Wedding Seed Favors
Make Your Own Wedding Seed Favors
Giving
your guests a packet of flower seeds as a wedding favors means you
are giving them something that they can actually use. Edible wedding
favors are also something they can "use", but after they've
gobbled it up, the wedding favor is forgotten.
With flower seeds,
when the flowers bloom your wedding guests can continue to enjoy them
as a reminder of your wedding. If you want to get corny, you could
say that the beautiful flowers will remind friends and family of the
blooming love between you and your spouse....
To make your own
flower seed wedding favors, the first thing you will need to buy is
bulk flower seed. You can usually get this from a plant nursery or
garden center in your local area. If not, the manager of the store
can usually direct you to where you can buy flower seed in bulk.
Don't buy the small individual packets becaus it will be much more
expensive than buying bulk.
Decide
upon the type of containers or packages you'dlike to present your
wedding seed favors in. Some options might be tiny wedding favor
buckets, small rectangular or triangular boxes, teeny-tiny shopping
bags, or wrap in cellophane (differnt colors are available in
addition to clear) to create pretty little flower seed pouches - just
tie off the pouch with some curling ribbon or satin.
Attach pretty tags
or labels with your wedding date and names, maybe even a little verse
if you like; something along the lines of "Plant these seeds and
watch them grow, just as our love has blossomed today".
If you get your
fiance involved in assembling your wedding seed favors - or your mom,
bridesmiands, or other friends and family - you can turn it into a
fun "bonding" experience. It'll be a fond and lsting memory
later on.
